Bonus Dividends

This card is high risk, high reward: the winnings from the special dividend, which benefits all players, are paid for by the players with a loss of control: the next headline card that is drawn must be activated immediately and counts uncontrolled points towards the crises!

How to play: Give each player 50% of the capital they already hold. This means that a player with 30 capital receives 15 additional capital and now has 45. After all players have received their capital, the censor draws the top card from the headline deck and activates it immediately. Do not forget to add up the crisis values for the crises.

This card appears a total of 3 times in the deck.

Play this card if you have significantly more capital than other players!
Use the potential earnings of a rival through this card as a bargaining chip. Perhaps they will share with you if you play this card.
Especially when you think you are behind, this card can bring new momentum to the game, as it capitalises on the monopoly crisis and provides you with a lot of capital – opening up new opportunities.
Disrupt another player’s game by using this card to simply draw another headline card from the deck that will hurt them much more than it hurts you!

Can this card be drawn and activated multiple times in succession?

Yes, if, for example, all 3 special dividends are drawn, Monopoly is increased by a total of 9. In addition, the players’ capital is increased by 50% three times. The compound interest effect applies. Example: 100 capital –> 150 capital –> 225 capital –> 338 capital (always rounded up!)

What happens if a special dividend triggers a crisis? In what order do I have to deal with these?

If the crisis value of Special Dividend triggers a monopoly, the monopoly event ‘Kleptocracy’ is dealt with before the next headline is drawn. However, you will receive the money beforehand through the effect of Special Dividend. After Kleptocracy has been completed, you deal with the next headline.
