Political Purge

Are your enemies’ dignitaries getting on your nerves, or do you want to provoke a chancellor election and directly remove your opponents’ helpful cards from the game? This is your card!

How to play it: All players, including the Censor, discard 4 influence cards. This means that you may discard any combination of operations and bribes, as long as the total is 4. If you have fewer than 4 cards or exactly 4 cards, discard them all. Also discard all dignitaries.

Tips and Tricks

Here are a few tips that may be helpful:

Imagine your rivals only have four influence cards in their hands, but you have more. Discard anything that doesn’t serve your strategy and go into the preparations for the chancellor election with a four-vote lead, for example!
Use this card as a threat and bargaining chip with regard to the lives of your rivals’ dignitaries!
Playing this card slows down the game, as all players must give up a variety of options. Think carefully about when and whether you need to do this.
Avoid playing this card too early, as it can seriously mess up your start to the game!
