The Pariah

This role makes offers that cannot be refused. Specifically, it uses the Advocate cards, which give access to unique niche effects. It draws three and chooses one for itself, one to sell or give away, and discards the last one.

How to play: As soon as it is the pariah’s turn with the role card effect, draw 3 cards from your personal advocate card deck! Choose one card and keep it. Now trade with your fellow players and sell or give away one of the other cards. If no player wants to trade with you, you must give away a card. Do not reveal your advocate cards at any time.

Tips and Tricks

Here are a few tips that may be helpful:

  • This role may only offer their cards face down, so you never know if the Pariah is cheating you until you buy from them. Three of their ten cards are fake and have no effect!
  • The Advocate cards are divided into two halves: the upper effect can only be used by the Pariah himself, while the lower effect can only be used by everyone else, not by the Pariah!
  • This role is perfect for blackmailing players and otherwise forcing them into regular, nasty deals!
  • This role has no colour, so it cannot be selected as a target by some assassins. However, since you regularly add fuel to the fire at the table anyway, you have a target on your head that compensates for this.
  • Some Advocate cards can be decisive for the outcome of the game if played at the right moment! Generally speaking, this is the role that holds back their card effects and can be played at any time, which makes them particularly dangerous. What’s more, Advocate cards do not count towards your hand card limit!
  • This role only plays a part if there are at least 3 players. Play this role as your starting role in solo mode.

FAQs and Clarifications

Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions, clarifications, and perhaps even one or two unconventional methods for playing the respective card, the special case of which has been regulated here.

I heard something in a video about assassinations that this role can openly carry out against other players at any time?

Correct. This role was reworked during the Kickstarter and now has a different effect!

If I have to give away my cards, why should players trade with me?

You have the option of distributing cards that have no effect. So if your fellow players do not want to trade, simply give them your bluffs. This way, they will learn that they can only force a trade with good cards.
