Advocate Cards

These cards have niche effects that can be extremely powerful when used correctly. However, they often require patience to wait for the right moment. The Pariah has exclusive access to them, but must also give them away or sell them to other players, thereby putting them into circulation. They are considered cards that can be played at any time and do not count towards the hand card limit.

Advocate cards have an effect at the top that can only be used by the Pariah himself. The bottom effect, on the other hand, can only be used by players who are not ‘the Pariah’.

General Tips

Here are a few tips that may be helpful:

  • Three of your ten advocate cards are blanks and have no effect – use them wisely, because they guarantee you will have an enemy at the table when you use them!
  • If you receive a fraudulent card from a pariah, do not let on, but sell the card quietly and secretly – perhaps as part of a deal or blackmail, but never offer it directly, as this is too often seen through!
  • As an outcast, take a fake item for yourself and offer it later. Very few people will believe that you actually took a ‘loser’ for yourself and will consequently fall for your deception!
  • Motivate players who have an enemy to take action against them by equipping them with useful advocate cards. You will usually benefit from the effects too!
  • Cards such as ‘Corrupt Militia’ can be used in wars against capitals and suddenly decide a war through capital. Use these very niche, massively powerful effects wisely!
