Corrupt Militias

Corrupt militias allow you to auction off armies for money, thereby completely shifting power in Phase I. On the other hand, all players except the pariah can kill armies for capital. This card is an anytime card in terms of card speed and can be played as a counter. However, it can only be played in I.

How to play this card: If this card is played by the Pariah, they select a field. The armies there are auctioned off openly. The winner of the auction receives all armies in the field and half of the capital goes to the Pariah. If a player from the Pariah plays this card, they can discard one army from a field for every 10 capital. Any armies from any fields may be selected.

Tips and Tricks

Here are a few tips that may be helpful:

  • This card is very specific, but equally powerful in the right situation.
  • Use this card if you have a lot of capital to create military superiority.
  • Alternatively, you can play the card as a pariah to gain a lot of capital, which can be invested in armour or similar items. However, be careful that other players may gain a military advantage as a result.
  • The ‘everyone’ effect can sometimes be more helpful than the ‘pariah’ effect. So consider whether you want to keep the card or whether you would rather sell it in a good trade. However, it is best to protect yourself with a handshake before using the card against yourself.
